LEXINGTON, Ky. , Lexington police report that an early morning shooting in the city’s East End has left two people hurt.
Officers headed to the 600 block of Ohio Street after receiving a call around 2 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, they discovered two injured adults suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders transported both individuals to a local hospital, where medical staff are treating their injuries. Authorities note that both victims are expected to pull through.
Shortly afterward, investigators tracked down an adult suspect nearby. Officers took the individual into custody and filed two charges of first-degree assault against them.
Law enforcement officials have not publicly shared the suspect’s identity, and they continue to actively investigate the incident.
