Another water main break floods West Hollywood street, a week after major pipe burst

WEST HOLLYWOOD , A water main break sent water rushing across a West Hollywood street Thursday morning, one week after a separate pipe burst nearby left widespread damage in the neighborhood.

The latest incident occurred around 6 a.m. at Santa Monica Boulevard and Laurel Avenue. A news helicopter showed water seeping up from the ground and spilling onto the sidewalk and street, though the flooding appeared less extensive than last week’s break.

About two miles away, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews worked to repair a sinkhole on Sunset Boulevard that formed after last week’s flooding.

The two water main breaks are not believed to be related, according to a source.
