The National Weather Service office in Memphis confirmed Monday that a tornado touched down last week near the Craighead/Poinsett County line.
Using photos and videos, the NWS determined that an EF-Unknown tornado briefly touched down for about one minute at 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29.
The tornado, measuring about 50 yards wide, moved roughly half a mile between Kirksey Ditch Road and County Road 452 just south of the county line.
The National Weather Service reported no damage and no injuries.

That same system spawned an EF-1 tornado in Stone County and destructive straight-line winds in parts of Southeast Missouri and the Bootheel.
