A construction worker died after a vehicle struck him while he was directing traffic in Pulaski County.
The highway patrol reported that the incident occurred around 2:20 Monday afternoon on Spruce Road, west of Highway-W.
An SUV hit the 35-year-old man when an 88-year-old driver from Waynesville failed to notice him. Emergency responders pronounced the worker dead shortly after arriving at the scene.
The 88-year-old driver was not injured.
