Stamford Parents Sentenced After Toddler’s Body Found Buried in Park

Two parents from Stamford have been sentenced in a heartbreaking case involving the death of their 2-year-old son, whose remains were discovered buried in a local park.

Authorities confirmed that Edgar Ismalej-Gomez was sentenced to 18 years in prison, while Iris Rivera-Santos received a 20-year sentence.

Both parents pleaded guilty in connection with the death of their son, Liam.

The child’s body was found on January 2, 2023, in a shallow grave at Cummings Park.
