Description
For the first time in a long time, the threat for severe weather looms over the Ozarks. Strong storms are expected Wednesday evening into the overnight hours. The Storm Prediction Center has issued an enhanced risk for the time period.
Where: The risk for severe weather extends throughout the entire Ozarks. However, the strongest of storms are expected to the west of Highway 65. East Kansas and into Kansas City are expected to get hit the hardest.
What: All modes of severe weather will be possible. Strong winds, heavy rain, and large hail will be possible. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
When: A few showers and thunderstorms could fire up ahead of the cold front on Wednesday afternoon. The best chance for storms will be closer to bedtime, as the front begins to push into Missouri. The storms will race through overnight and clear out Thursday (Halloween) morning, leaving it dry for Trick-or-Treaters.
