SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — After six years on Commercial Street, Cafe Basilico has announced they are closed for the foreseeable future.

According to a Facebook post from Cafe Basilico, the announcement was made on Oct. 26.

"With a heavy heart, we are sad to announce that we have closed our doors. We have had a great 6 years serving Springfield on Commercial Street. We will miss all our faithful travelers and foodies," said the Facebook post.

The post did not go into detail on why they decided to close; however, in previous posts, the cafe did close numerous times due to staffing shortages.

"Thank you all who have graced our establishment and made lifelong connections, words cannot express our gratitude," said the Facebook post.
