Connecticut State Police report 3 DUIs, 55 crashes on Fourth of July

Connecticut State Police responded to 1,260 calls for service on July 4, 2026, according to agency statistics.

Troopers conducted 201 traffic stops and made 3 DUI arrests during the holiday.

Police also provided 185 traffic services, including debris removal and assistance with disabled or hazardous motor vehicles.

Statewide, 55 motor vehicle crashes occurred on July 4. Five of those crashes caused injuries. No fatal crashes occurred.

These statistics generally decreased from July 3, when police responded to 1,423 calls for service and made 6 DUI arrests.

Law enforcement reminded everyone to drive safely and to arrange a sober driving plan.
