Two 18-Year-Olds Critically Injured in Mount Pleasant Shooting in South St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — Two 18-year-old men were hospitalized after a shooting in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of south St. Louis Thursday evening, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.


Shooting Reported on Pennsylvania Avenue

Police said the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, where officers responded to reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, authorities found both victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment.


Victims in Critical Condition

Officials reported that:

  • One victim is in critical and unstable condition
  • The other is in critical but stable condition

Investigators said one of the victims was unable to provide a statement due to the severity of his injuries, while the second victim told officers he blacked out and could not recall details of the incident.


Investigation Ongoing

Police have not yet released information about a suspect or motive. The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the shooting.
