Police in Little Rock have arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 28-year-old man over the weekend.
According to the Little Rock Police Department, officers responded around 11:10 p.m. on April 19 to two separate calls — one reporting an unknown disturbance on Mara Lynn Road and another involving a shooting victim on West Markham Street.
When officers arrived at the 10700 block of West Markham Street, they discovered 28-year-old Zachariah Bryson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities said Bryson’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
On April 20, police took 28-year-old Maicio Brown into custody in connection with the case. He has since been formally charged with first-degree murder.
Investigators have not yet released further details about what led to the shooting. The case remains under active investigation, and officials say additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
