Enfield 12-Year-Old’s Death: Fourth Search Warrant Focuses on Laptop as Key Evidence

Investigators probing the death of a 12-year-old girl in Enfield are now examining a laptop believed to contain crucial digital evidence, according to newly unsealed court documents.

The latest warrant — the fourth released in the case — reveals that an HP laptop recovered from the girl’s bedroom is being analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities say the device was discovered open on the floor with a YouTube page displayed, suggesting it had been used shortly before her death.

The girl was found dead inside her home on March 18. Weeks later, on April 2, her stepfather, Anthony Federline, was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting her.

Earlier search warrants, unsealed on April 9 and April 13, detailed other items seized from the residence, including a tablet and a cellphone. The newly released warrant expands the scope of the investigation, highlighting the potential importance of digital activity in the case.

According to investigators, data from the laptop could provide insight into the girl’s recent online activity, including websites visited and possible communications with Federline or others. Officials believe this information may help establish a timeline and could lead to additional charges.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the girl’s death. Toxicology results are still pending as investigators work to confirm how she died.

The case remains under active investigation, with law enforcement continuing to analyze evidence gathered from multiple devices.
