Fatal Shooting Investigation in Wynne Leads to Arrest
Authorities have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with a deadly shooting that took place earlier this week in Wynne.
The arrest was confirmed by the Arkansas State Police following a coordinated search.
Victim Identified in Shooting Incident
According to investigators, officers with the Wynne Police Department responded to reports of gunfire around 11:50 a.m. on April 14 near C Street and Fitzhugh Circle.
At the scene, they found Javon Beal, 34, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
His body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further examination to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Suspect Captured After Search
Following the investigation, authorities located and arrested Edward Lampkin Jr., 36, at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City on the evening of April 14.
He has been charged with first-degree murder and is expected to be held at the Cross County Detention Center.
