Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation at Bass Pro Pyramid in Memphis, No Explosives Found

The iconic Bass Pro Shops Pyramid in downtown Memphis was evacuated on Wednesday morning after authorities received a bomb threat, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

Police officials reported that officers were dispatched to the location at 1 Bass Pro Drive shortly after 11:00 a.m. on April 22 in response to the threat. As a precautionary measure, the building was quickly cleared to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.

Law enforcement teams, including K9 units trained in explosive detection, conducted a thorough search of the premises. After an extensive sweep, authorities confirmed that no suspicious devices or credible threats were found inside the facility.

An MPD spokesperson later stated that, as of Wednesday evening around 8:00 p.m., no arrests had been made in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the source of the threat.

Representatives from Bass Pro Shops have not yet released an official statement. Media outlets have reached out for comment and are awaiting a response.

While the situation was ultimately deemed a false alarm, the incident caused temporary disruption in the busy downtown area and highlighted the importance of rapid emergency response protocols in public spaces.
