Pedestrian struck and killed on 10 Freeway near Vermont Avenue in Mid-City, lanes closed

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Monday on the 10 Freeway in Mid-City, prompting the closure of several westbound lanes.

The crash was reported around 3:45 a.m. near Vermont Avenue, according to authorities. The cause of the collision remained under investigation.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. No further details about the victim were immediately available.

All westbound lanes were initially closed following the crash before the far-left lane was reopened to traffic. A SigAlert was issued for the area.
