2 Dead, 1 Injured in Shooting Near Bar in West Haven, CT

Two people have died and another was injured in a shooting near a bar in West Haven early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a bar in the 600 block of Campbell Avenue around 1:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

When police arrived in the area, they found three people who had been shot. Police said one victim, shot in the arm and leg, was conscious, alert and responsive when officers arrived.

Authorities found two additional people across the street who appeared to be unresponsive. Investigators said both had apparent gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Their identities have not been released.

Police said their investigation determined that all three people were outside the bar before the shooting occurred. They believe the incident is isolated and connected to activity at the bar, and they do not believe the public faces any threat.

Campbell Avenue remains closed as detectives process the scene. The investigation is active and ongoing.
