Woman charged with sexually assaulting a dog in Meriden

Police in Meriden have arrested a woman accused of sexually abusing a dog.

Authorities launched the investigation on April 6.

Officers secured an arrest warrant for 45-year-old Kristiina Kennedy, who turned herself in to police on Wednesday.

Veterinarians examined the dog and found no injuries.

Officials also removed two cats from the home, and the city plans to petition the court on Friday to take custody of them.

Kennedy faces charges of sexual assault of an animal (creating/distributing pornography). She was released on a $10,000 bond.
