Tragedy in Shreveport: 8 Children Among 10 Victims in Mass Shooting Across Multiple Locations

A devastating mass shooting in Shreveport has left a community in shock after eight children, ranging from ages 1 to 14, were killed in what authorities describe as a domestic-related incident.

Police say the shooting unfolded early Sunday morning, beginning around 6 a.m., when officers responded to reports of a domestic disturbance. What they found was far more complex — a crime scene stretching across four different locations, including multiple homes on the same street and another nearby area.

According to officials, a total of 10 people were shot, with the majority of victims being children. Authorities believe the suspect — who was later killed by police — may have had a direct connection to the victims, with indications that his own children were among those killed.

The situation escalated quickly after the suspect allegedly carjacked a vehicle and fled, leading officers on a pursuit that ended in Bossier City, marking the fourth and final crime scene.

Police confirmed that officers shot and killed the suspect at the end of the chase. At this time, investigators believe he was the only gunman involved.

Officials described the scene as overwhelming and emotionally devastating.
“This is a terrible morning,” said Mayor Tom Arceneaux, emphasizing the deep impact on families, first responders, and the entire community.

Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed similar grief, saying he struggled to comprehend how such a tragedy could occur.

Authorities are still working to piece together the full timeline and motive behind the shooting. More details, including the suspect’s identity, are expected to be released in the coming days.
