TikTok Star D4vd Arrested in Murder Case of Missing Teen Celeste Rivas Hernandez

LOS ANGELES — Rising singer and social media personality D4vd has been arrested in connection with the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, Hernandez, whose remains were discovered inside an abandoned Tesla months after she went missing, authorities confirmed.

The 21-year-old artist, whose real name is David Burke, was taken into custody Thursday in the Hollywood Hills on suspicion of murder. Law enforcement officials said the arrest follows a months-long investigation into the teen’s disappearance and death.

Teen’s Remains Found in Abandoned Tesla

Celeste, who vanished in April 2024 from the Lake Elsinore area, was reported missing by her family when she was just 13 years old. Authorities later determined she was 14 at the time of her death.

Her decomposed remains were discovered on September 8, 2025, inside the front trunk — or “frunk” — of a Tesla registered to Burke. The vehicle had been towed from a Hollywood Hills neighborhood after residents reported it had been abandoned for over a month.

Investigators said the discovery was made after tow yard workers noticed a strong odor coming from the vehicle. Disturbingly, officials revealed the remains were found in multiple cadaver bags.

The grim finding came just one day after what would have been Celeste’s 15th birthday.

Arrest Follows Months of Investigation

Authorities had identified Burke as a suspect in November but delayed making the arrest public as they continued gathering evidence. Police emphasized that the timing was necessary to protect the integrity of the case.

Burke was arrested without incident at a residence on Marmont Avenue and is currently being held without bail. The case is expected to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.

Prosecutors say they will review the evidence before deciding whether to formally file charges.

Defense Denies Allegations

Attorneys representing Burke strongly denied the accusations, stating that the singer is innocent.

“The evidence will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and was not responsible for her death,” his legal team said in a statement. They also noted that no formal charges or indictment had been filed at the time of his arrest.

Connection Between Victim and Suspect

According to family members, Celeste knew Burke prior to her disappearance. However, investigators have not yet publicly detailed the nature of their relationship or the circumstances surrounding her death.

Officials also indicated that more than one person may have been involved in the killing or the disposal of the body, suggesting the investigation is still ongoing.

A Rising Star Under Scrutiny

Before his arrest, D4vd had gained widespread fame through viral content on TikTok, amassing millions of followers. His music career took off with hits like “Romantic Homicide,” leading to record deals and a global tour.

At the time Celeste’s remains were discovered, the singer was reportedly on tour in the United States.

Community Demands Justice

The case has sparked outrage and grief within the community. Neighbors of Celeste’s family have created memorials in her honor, calling for justice after months of uncertainty.

As the legal process unfolds, authorities continue to urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
