A man was taken into custody Thursday morning after allegedly entering the Aetna headquarters in Hartford with a firearm, according to police.

Authorities say the situation was quickly contained, with no injuries reported.


Suspect Detained Within Minutes

Officers from the Hartford Police Department responded around 10 a.m. to a report of a suspicious individual at the Farmington Avenue office.

By the time police arrived, building security had already detained the suspect.

Investigators identified the man as Denrey Wadlington, 51.


Weapon Found in Backpack

According to police, Wadlington entered the building carrying a backpack that contained an AR-style pistol.

Officials said he was stopped within approximately three minutes of entering the premises, preventing any escalation.

Wadlington now faces multiple charges, including:
