WILMINGTON MANOR, Delaware (April 23, 2026) — A late-night crash along Route 13 in New Castle County claimed the life of a pedestrian on Wednesday, according to Delaware State Police.
The fatal incident occurred just before 10:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Bacon Avenue. Authorities reported that a 51-year-old driver operating a Dodge Ram struck a 71-year-old man who was entering the roadway from the nearby Manor Park Shopping Center.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead on-site. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of family members.
Police confirmed that the driver was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
