Oklahoma Man Who Owned Towing Company Charged After Stolen Vehicle Investigation

A towing company owner now faces charges after investigators uncovered a stolen vehicle scheme.

On Oct. 30, 2025, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation received a law enforcement report about a Dodge Ram TRX believed to be stolen.

Investigators say the truck, valued at $70,000, had its VIN switched to a fraudulent one.

OSBI special agents traced the vehicle to Chickasaw Towing in Pauls Valley, a company owned by 40-year-old Dustin Horn.

A registration search revealed that the truck had previously been registered to Chickasaw Towing in 2025 under a false VIN, authorities say.

In November, the OSBI identified the pickup’s true VIN and determined its registered owner was a Houston insurance company.

Investigators found that Horn had previously been asked to impound the vehicle after it was first recovered as stolen. Upon discovering the false VIN, Horn allegedly presented that fraudulent information to the Pauls Valley Tag Agency and the State of Oklahoma to register the truck to his business.

Horn was ultimately arrested on charges of obtaining property by false pretenses.
