NWS Issues Severe Flood Watch for Parts of Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas Through Sunday Afternoon

NWS Tulsa has issued a severe flood watch for portions of northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma, covering 16 counties, from this evening through Sunday afternoon due to expected heavy rainfall

The alert warns that 1 to 3 inches of rain, with locally 4 to 5 inches, could cause flash flooding in rivers, creeks, and low‑lying areas.

A prior watch, issued earlier, covered five counties in the same region and also warned of potential flash flooding from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon .

Residents are advised to monitor forecasts and prepare for possible warnings as the cold front moves through the area.
