Authorities are continuing an active investigation after the human remains of three young children were discovered in the Hickory Hill area of Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Police confirmed that the remains were located near Ridge Meadow Parkway, close to Ridgeway Road. The case, which is still developing, has drawn significant attention as officials work to uncover the identities of the victims and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
The investigation began on March 8, 2026, when officers responded to an anonymous tip about suspicious findings in a wooded area. Upon arrival, authorities discovered what appeared to be a concealed skull, prompting further examination of the site.
Two days later, on March 10, K9 units searching the area identified additional human remains inside a nearby drainage pipe. Investigators continued to examine the location over the following weeks. On April 1, officials found what was believed to be another skull, followed by the discovery of 14 more bones consistent with human remains on April 2.
After forensic analysis, police confirmed that the remains belonged to three children estimated to be between the ages of 3 and 7. At this stage, the cause of death has not been determined, and investigators are still working to identify the victims.
Authorities believe the remains may have been in the area for several years, adding complexity to the case. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has joined the investigation to assist with forensic analysis and evidence gathering.
Officials are urging anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward and contact the Memphis Police Department.
This remains a developing story, and updates are expected as more details emerge.
