GREENVILLE, Ill. — A man was hospitalized after being shot during a suspected home invasion early Thursday morning in Greenville, according to authorities.
Police say officers with the Greenville Police Department responded to a call around 3:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Green Street following reports of a break-in.
Victim Found With Gunshot Wounds
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man inside the residence suffering from gunshot injuries. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not yet disclosed the severity of his condition.
State Police Take Over Investigation
The Illinois State Police has since taken over the investigation at the request of local authorities.
