FERGUSON, Mo. — A deadly shooting in Ferguson on Sunday evening left one man dead and two women injured after gunfire erupted near a food truck gathering, according to authorities.
Police said the incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. in the 10900 block of New Halls Ferry Road, close to Pershall Road. Officers responding to the scene discovered three victims — a man and two women — suffering from gunshot wounds.
All three were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials later confirmed that the man, identified as 41-year-old Ronald Milton of Florissant, died from his injuries. The two women are expected to recover, as their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Investigators believe the shooting began when an individual inside a vehicle opened fire into a crowd gathered in the parking lot near a food truck. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack, and no arrests have been announced so far.
The shooting took place at the site of a former IHOP restaurant, an area that has seen prior violent incidents. Authorities noted that the location is near a Home Depot where another fatal shooting occurred last year.
The investigation is being handled by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and to identify those responsible.
