Authorities on Monday identified a 61-year-old man who died in a car-to-car shooting near the Kia Forum in Inglewood last Friday.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the victim, Michael Elridge, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The shooting occurred near Prairie Avenue and Manchester Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. Friday. According to Inglewood Mayor James Butts, both vehicles were stopped when the suspect opened fire on the victim before fleeing the scene.
Officials said Elridge managed to drive about a block before losing consciousness near Nutwood Street and Prairie Avenue.
Butts said a woman was also inside the victim’s vehicle, though it remains unclear whether she was injured.
Investigators have not determined what led to the shooting.
No arrests had been made as of Monday.
