Arkansas Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Child Sexual Abuse Material Charges

Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin has announced the conviction of a man from Rector in a case involving child sexual abuse material.

Joseph M. Parrish, 37, was taken into custody in January 2025 following an undercover investigation. Authorities say he has now been convicted on four charges related to distributing, possessing, or viewing explicit material involving minors.

Parrish entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. In addition to his prison term, he will be under court supervision for another 10 years after his release. He is also required to register as a sex offender.

In a statement, Griffin acknowledged the efforts of the Special Investigations Division and the office of Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood for their roles in bringing the case forward.

He also emphasized the seriousness of such offenses, stating that those who exploit children will be identified, prosecuted, and held accountable under the law.
