Affidavit: Man Arrested in Connection to Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash in Oklahoma City

Authorities say officers have arrested one person following a deadly crash in Oklahoma City.

On June 29, an Oklahoma City Police Department officer pulled over a vehicle after it failed to stop at a stop sign in the 3100 block of N. I-35 Service Road in Oklahoma City.

The probable cause affidavit states that the vehicle also had a defective front headlight from a collision.

During the traffic stop, citizens flagged down officers and said two people were lying in the road after being hit by the suspect’s vehicle.

Investigators arrived at the crash scene near I-35 and N.E. 36th St. and found two people.

Authorities say one victim died at the scene, while officers rushed the other to a nearby hospital with two broken femurs and bruised lungs.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Sterling Morales on complaints of second-degree murder, leaving the scene of an accident with a fatality, causing an accident with great bodily injury without a valid driver’s license, driving while suspended, failure to stop at a stop sign, defective headlights, and aggravated DUI.
