WILMINGTON, Del. — A 15-year-old girl is facing charges after she stabbed her hairdresser and a bystander at Fransiah African Braids in Wilmington on Sunday, Delaware State Police say.
The teenager was inside the shop on the 3900 block of North Market Street getting her hair braided when she became upset with the results, police say. She allegedly threw items around the salon, then grabbed scissors from the hairdresser before retreating to a restroom.
When she came back out, police say she threatened the stylist with the scissors before stabbing her multiple times following a verbal altercation. A bystander who stepped in to intervene was also stabbed, according to police.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital and are expected to recover.
Troopers located the teenager outside the salon and took her into custody without incident, police say.
Delaware State Police say the teenager faces charges of assault, aggravated menacing, and disorderly conduct.
She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Department of Services for Children Youth and Their Families on a $10,100 secured bond.
Police have not identified the suspect or victims.
