Roberts described the experience as overwhelming, noting that correcting false assumptions in real time proved difficult amid the volume of responses.
“You don’t get heard when it’s thousands against one,” he said.

While the backlash was intense, officials confirmed no direct threats were made. The situation began to calm the following day, allowing operations at the fire station to return to normal.
The department also reiterated its commitment to professionalism and community service, distancing itself from the former member’s remarks.
