Milford Smoke Shop Raid: Police Seize 54 Pounds of Marijuana and Unregulated THC Products

MILFORD, Conn. — Authorities confiscated large quantities of illegal substances, including 54 pounds of marijuana and unregulated THC products, during compliance inspections at two smoke shops in Milford, officials confirmed.

The operation was carried out on Tuesday by the Milford Police Department in collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection following multiple complaints about suspected illegal activity at local businesses.

Two Smoke Shops Targeted in Investigation

Officials conducted inspections at two locations along Boston Post Road:

  • Puffoo City
  • Puff Green Smoke

During the checks, authorities reported finding significant quantities of unregulated THC items, kratom, and marijuana that exceeded legal limits.

Arrest Made, Multiple Drug Charges Filed

Police arrested Ahmed Nasar Aliyahry, a 20-year-old from the Bronx, New York, in connection with the case.

He is facing several serious charges, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Intent to sell controlled substances
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Operating a drug factory
  • Possession of more than 5 ounces of marijuana
  • Intent to sell more than 1 kilogram of marijuana

Authorities confirmed that Aliyahry is scheduled to appear in court on May 12.

Crackdown Follows Community Complaints

According to officials, the enforcement action was prompted by repeated public complaints about illegal sales and unregulated products being distributed through local smoke shops.

Investigators say the seized items included substances that fall outside state regulations, raising concerns about consumer safety and illegal distribution networks.

Ongoing Efforts to Enforce Compliance

Law enforcement agencies emphasized that the operation is part of a broader effort to ensure businesses comply with state laws governing controlled substances and retail practices.

Officials indicated that additional inspections and enforcement actions could follow as authorities continue monitoring smoke shops across the region.
