Bullet Discovered Near Conway Public Schools Office
Authorities in Conway, Arkansas, have launched an investigation after a bullet was found outside a local school administration building. The incident has raised safety concerns, though officials say there is no immediate threat linked to schools in the area.
Incident Reported on April 14
According to the Conway Police Department, officers responded on April 14 to multiple incidents across the city, including a reported bomb threat at a junior high school and a separate social media threat involving a teenager.
Later the same day, police were called to the Conway Public Schools Administration Annex on Hairston Street after staff noticed damage to the building.
Investigation Reveals Bullet Impact
Upon inspection, investigators determined that the damage was likely caused by a bullet. Authorities recovered the projectile, which appeared to have struck the east side of the building.
Employees later recalled hearing a noise earlier in the day but initially believed it was a rock hitting the structure.
No Link to Other Threats, Police Say
Officials clarified that the bullet incident does not appear to be connected to the earlier bomb threat or the social media-related case. Each situation is being treated as a separate investigation.
Possible Origin of the Shot
Preliminary findings suggest the bullet may have been fired from an area near elevated railroad tracks located northeast of the building, across a wooded section.
Police are working to determine the exact circumstances and source of the shot.
Public Asked to Share Information
Investigators are urging anyone who was near the administration building or the nearby railroad tracks during late morning hours to come forward with information.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say updates will be provided as more details emerge.
