Police Launch Homicide Investigation in Little Rock

Authorities in Little Rock have launched a homicide investigation after a shooting earlier this month left a 21-year-old man dead. The Little Rock Police Department confirmed the case is now being treated as a homicide following the victim’s death.


Incident Reported on Holt Street

According to officials, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:00 a.m. on April 7 in the 4200 block of Holt Street.

When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Semaj Ellis suffering from an apparent gunshot wound at the scene.


Victim Succumbs to Injuries Days Later

Ellis was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he died on April 13 due to injuries sustained in the shooting.

Following his death, authorities officially reclassified the case as a homicide.


No Suspects Identified Yet

Police have not released details about any suspects or a possible motive. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
