Enfield Police Investigate Death of 12-Year-Old Girl Found Unresponsive at Home

Authorities in Enfield are continuing their investigation into the death of a 12-year-old girl who was found unresponsive inside her home earlier this week.

Child Found Unresponsive at Residence

Police identified the girl as Eve Rogers, who was discovered at her home on Elm Street around 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox. Family members were present at the residence at the time.

Cause of Death Still Under Investigation

Officials are working closely with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. At this stage, police say it is unclear whether the death is suspicious.

Investigators executed a search warrant at the home as part of standard procedures. The Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad is assisting in the case.

Interviews Ongoing

Authorities confirmed they are speaking with individuals who may have relevant information, including family members, as part of the ongoing investigation.

State Agency Involved

The Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) has also launched a joint investigation alongside law enforcement following a report of the child’s death.

Community Impact and Support

The loss has deeply affected the local community. Although Rogers had been homeschooled since September 2022, Enfield Public Schools expressed condolences and noted the impact on the town.

Counseling services are being made available to support students and residents during this difficult time.

No Immediate Threat to Public

Police emphasized that there is no current danger to the public as the investigation continues.

Further updates are expected as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
