A tragic domestic violence incident in Chester left three people dead and another injured early Wednesday, according to authorities.
Police Respond to Late-Night Emergency Call
Officers were dispatched around midnight to a home on Barclay Street after reports of a man armed with a knife, the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office confirmed.
When police arrived, they found the suspect actively attacking a woman inside the residence. Authorities said the man ignored repeated commands to drop the weapon.
Officer-Involved Shooting
In response to the ongoing threat, an officer discharged their firearm, striking the suspect. He was later pronounced dead.
Multiple Victims Discovered Inside Home
Investigators later uncovered a second deadly act:
- The female victim being attacked died from her injuries
- Another man inside the home had been shot by the suspect and also died
- The suspect, who was shot by police, was the third fatality
A second woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
