A tragic early-morning shooting in Stratford has left a Bridgeport firefighter dead, with a suspect now in custody facing multiple serious charges.
Victim Identified as Veteran Firefighter
Police identified the victim as Terrence Cramer, 41, an active-duty member of the Bridgeport Fire Department for more than nine years.
Authorities said officers responded to reports of gunfire on Feeley Street around 1:44 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Cramer suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterward.
Suspect Captured After Pursuit
Following the incident, investigators issued a felony warrant for Jabari Bush, also 41.
Police later apprehended Bush after a brief vehicle pursuit in Derby later that afternoon.
Charges and Court Proceedings
Bush is facing multiple charges, including:
- Murder
- Home invasion
- Criminal possession of a firearm
He is currently being held on a $2 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 30.

The Stratford Police Department led the investigation, with assistance from several regional agencies, including police departments from New Haven, Seymour, Shelton, Derby, and the Connecticut State Police.
