The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says a man accused of shooting a Memphis, Tennessee, police officer may be hiding in Arkansas or Louisiana.
On Wednesday, TBI shared images of the suspect, 40-year-old Danell Maxwell, and said investigators believe he may have left Tennessee and could be in Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia, or Iowa.
Authorities want Maxwell on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony in connection with the February 26 shooting of Memphis Police officer Oscar Torres-Molina.
According to Memphis television station WREG, two weeks have now passed since the manhunt for Maxwell began. The station also reported that Officer Molina has been released from the hospital.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Maxwell is 5’10” tall and weighs about 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Officials warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $32,500 for information that leads to Maxwell’s arrest.
Anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts should call TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
