An 18-wheeler hauling gasoline overturned early Wednesday morning in Jackson County. The crash occurred around 2:31 a.m. on Independence Road in the Franklin Creek area.
Jackson County Fire Protection officials said the tanker was transporting gasoline, but no leaks have been reported. Crews will have to offload the gasoline, which is expected to keep the road closed for several hours. E3 Environmental is handling the transfer process.
Independence Road is closed. Franklin Creek Road to Patrick Henry Street can be used as a detour to get to Forts Lake Road.
