Troy, Illinois Home Explosion Kills 3, Injures 1 as Fire Engulfs Residence

MADISON COUNTY, Illinois — A devastating home explosion and fire in Troy late Sunday night left three people dead and one seriously injured, according to local authorities.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 11:20 p.m. to a residence in the 8000 block of West Kirsch Road, where firefighters arrived to find the home almost completely consumed by flames.


Casualties and Injuries Reported

Officials confirmed that three victims were found dead inside the home during firefighting efforts. Another individual suffered severe burn injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in nearby St. Louis for emergency treatment.

Authorities also said that several other residents managed to escape unharmed.


Witnesses Describe Multiple Explosions

Neighbors reported hearing a series of loud blasts before seeing flames engulf the property.

One witness said she heard multiple explosions that lit up the night sky, while video captured at the scene appeared to show fireworks detonating as the house burned.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether fireworks were directly linked to the cause of the explosion.
