Stratford Drug Bust: Man Charged After Police Seize Fentanyl, Heroin and Illegal Firearm

A major narcotics investigation in Stratford has led to the arrest of a suspected drug supplier accused of distributing illegal substances across the region.

Investigation Uncovers Mid-Level Drug Operation

The Stratford Police Department reported that in January, investigators identified a mid-level dealer believed to be supplying narcotics to street-level distributors in both Stratford and Bridgeport.

After gathering evidence over several weeks, authorities secured multiple search warrants tied to the suspected operation.

Search Warrants Lead to Arrest

On March 26, officers executed three search warrants and arrested Ernest Samuel at a residence on Enrica Rita Way.

Police said Samuel is a convicted felon with an extensive criminal background, including numerous prior narcotics-related arrests.

Drugs, Gun and Cash Recovered

During the operation, investigators seized a significant amount of evidence, including:

  • A loaded Smith & Wesson .32-caliber revolver
  • More than 82 grams of heroin and fentanyl
  • Approximately 113 grams of marijuana
  • Around $400 in cash

Charges Filed

Samuel now faces multiple serious charges, including:

  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Illegal firearm transfer or purchase
  • Operating a drug manufacturing operation
  • Possession of heroin with intent to distribute

Upcoming Court Hearing

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on April 7 as the case moves forward.
