Possible Human Skull Found Along Creek in Wilmington Under Investigation

Authorities in Wilmington are investigating after what appears to be a human skull and additional remains were discovered near a creek in a residential neighborhood.

Discovery Made in Highland Woods Area

Police said officers responded to the Ravine Road area in the Highland Woods neighborhood around 5:22 p.m. on Sunday after receiving a report of possible human remains.

Upon arrival, investigators located what is believed to be a human skull near the creek.

Remains Show Signs of Long-Term Exposure

According to officials, preliminary observations suggest the skull had been at the location for an extended period. Authorities noted visible signs of prolonged environmental exposure.

During a follow-up search of the surrounding area, investigators also recovered another bone, though its origin has not yet been confirmed.

Forensic Analysis Underway

The recovered remains have been sent to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for detailed examination and identification.

At this time, officials have not determined the identity of the individual.
