COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.
A department spokesperson said the incident took place around 5 a.m. Officers were first called to a convenience store in the 3200 block of Farrow Road, where the victim had gone to seek help.
Authorities later determined the shooting actually happened nearby in the 2200 block of Academy Street. Police have processed the scene, and officials said the man who was shot did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not released details about what led up to the incident, but police said they believe the shooting was isolated.
