STRAFFORD, Mo. – One woman is dead and two people were injured after a crash early today on Evergreen Road near Strafford.

Strafford Police Chief Dennis Shook said the driver of an eastbound car was killed when her auto crossed the center line and collided with a westbound pickup truck on the road alongside Interstate 44.

Chynna Wright, 34, of Springfield, died in the 5:30 a.m. crash, Shook said. The driver of the truck and a passenger in the car were injured and taken to a Springfield hospital.

Traffic on Evergreen was blocked for about an hour and a half, he said.
