BUFFALO, Mo. -- A woman accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend in Webster County on New Year's Eve in 2022 has entered a guilty plea on Monday before her jury trial.
Madison Rueckert, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action. She was initially charged with first-degree murder.
On Dec 31, 2022, Rueckert contacted the Dallas County Sheriff's Office saying she shot her boyfriend in the head and was turning herself in.
That same day, Marshfield police went to Rueckert's residence and found the victim -- later identified as Jonathan Miller -- deceased in a bed. They also found a handgun in an SUV driven by Rueckert to Dallas County before she turned herself in.
Rueckert told law enforcement she was upset with Miller after she found text messages to other women on his phone.
A sentencing hearing for Rueckert is scheduled for December 4, 2024.
