Kansas City Officer Fires Weapon During Domestic Assault Call

A domestic assault call in Kansas City escalated into a police shooting.

Officers responded to the area of 41st and North Wheeling Avenue, just off Parvin Road north of the river, shortly before 9 p.m. on March 23.

When a man inside the home picked up a knife, an officer fired a shot.

The suspect was not struck and is now in custody. The woman is receiving treatment for her injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, which is standard procedure whenever a Kansas City officer discharges their weapon while on duty.
