Investigation Underway After Human Remains Discovered in Delaware Woods
Authorities in Brandywine Hundred are investigating after a human skull was discovered in a wooded area, prompting an ongoing effort to identify the remains.
Police responded to a report of possible human bones along a creek in the Highland Woods neighborhood on March 29.

According to the New Castle County Police, the state medical examiner’s office has confirmed that the skull belongs to a human.
Initial findings indicate the remains had been exposed to environmental conditions for a prolonged period, suggesting the individual may have been deceased for an extended time.
Additional Bone Discovered During Search
While canvassing the area, detectives located another bone described as being of unknown origin. Investigators have not yet determined whether it is connected to the same individual.
