Gucci Mane Allegedly Kidnapped and Robbed in Dallas by Rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30, DOJ Says

DOJ Alleges Armed Kidnapping Plot Targeted Rapper Gucci Mane in Dallas Studio

DALLAS — Federal authorities say rapper Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, was the victim of an alleged armed kidnapping and robbery orchestrated by fellow rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Officials revealed that a group of nine suspects carried out the incident at a Dallas music studio. Eight individuals have already been arrested across multiple cities, including Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville.

Music Meeting Turned Violent During Alleged Contract Dispute

According to the DOJ complaint, the incident began on January 10, when three music industry professionals traveled to Dallas for what was supposed to be a business meeting.

Authorities allege that Pooh Shiesty, legally known as Lontrell Denell Williams Jr., arranged the meeting to discuss contract-related matters. However, the situation escalated dramatically once the victims arrived at the studio.

Investigators claim the suspects launched a coordinated armed takeover, turning what appeared to be a routine meeting into a violent crime scene.

Victims Forced at Gunpoint, Robbed of Cash and Luxury Items

Federal prosecutors say Williams Jr. allegedly brandished an AK-style firearm, forcing one victim to sign documents releasing contractual obligations under threat.

Meanwhile, other suspects reportedly displayed weapons and stole valuable items, including Rolex watches, jewelry, and large sums of cash.

One victim was reportedly choked to near unconsciousness, highlighting the severity of the attack. Authorities also allege that Big30, whose real name is Rodney Lamont Wright Jr., blocked exits to prevent anyone from escaping.

Social Media Posts and Evidence Link Suspects to Crime

Officials noted that some suspects allegedly posted stolen items on social media shortly after the incident, further strengthening the case against them.

Additionally, federal agents recently executed a search warrant at Pooh Shiesty’s residence in the Memphis area as part of the ongoing investigation.

Pooh Shiesty’s Legal History Raises Further Concerns

The DOJ highlighted that Williams Jr. had been released from prison in October 2025 after serving time for a federal gun-related offense.

At the time of the alleged Dallas incident, he was reportedly under home detention, which prohibited him from possessing firearms or engaging in criminal activity.

Authorities also allege that his father, Lontrell Williams Sr., played a role in planning and carrying out the crime.

Investigation Ongoing as Federal Charges Develop

The DOJ confirmed that the case remains under active investigation, and additional charges or arrests may follow.

Officials described the incident as a serious and coordinated criminal act involving violence, coercion, and organized planning within the music industry.
