Eastbound I-40 traffic delayed after crash leaves car badly damaged in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY — Troopers and an ambulance responded to an injury crash that is causing a major traffic backup along Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near Portland Avenue. Sky 5, the only news helicopter flying on weekday mornings, captured footage of a heavily damaged car sitting in the middle of the interstate.

Crews later loaded the vehicle onto a tow truck and cleared it from the scene.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and an ambulance also were at the scene. The conditions of the people involved are unknown.
