A Connecticut man has been arrested after authorities uncovered what they described as a drug manufacturing operation during a search in Ansonia.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Garden Street, where they reported finding illegal narcotics along with equipment commonly used in drug production and distribution.

The operation was led by Watertown Police Department, with assistance from multiple agencies, including the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Division, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Ansonia Police Department.

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

Authorities arrested 30-year-old Joseph Crego at the scene. He is facing several charges, including:

  • Operation of a drug factory
  • Two counts related to the sale of hallucinogens
  • Sale of narcotics

Officials say the charges stem from evidence collected during the search.

Court Appearance and Bond Details

Crego is currently being held on a bond set at $750,000. He is expected to appear in Derby Superior Court to face the charges.
