Lewisville police are currently investigating a deeply troubling incident recorded on camera, in which a man followed a female customer throughout a store for nearly two hours while repeatedly exposing himself.
Viewers who follow a woman known for livestreaming shopping deals on social media noticed something alarming during her broadcast at a Marshalls location on Stemmons Freeway at approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
“The people that were watching the streaming started commenting, ‘Hey, be aware, or be careful. This guy is like following you,'” the woman’s husband said.
The woman’s husband, who requested to be identified only by his middle name, Stiven, out of concern for the family’s privacy, revealed that his wife was overcome with shock and fear upon reviewing the recorded footage.
“He was at touching himself with his intimate parts exposed pretty close to her. She really got totally scared. She was shaking a lot,” Stiven said.
After reviewing the footage in its entirety, the couple discovered that the man had followed the woman throughout the entire store, engaging in the indecent behavior for well over an hour.
“There were families there. They were kids there. There were other ladies there,” Stiven said. “We couldn’t believe he was there all that time doing this thing close to everyone.”
A representative from Marshalls provided the following official statement: “At Marshalls, the safety of our customers is a top priority, and we want everyone who visits our store to have an enjoyable shopping experience. We are aware of our customer’s concerns and regret she had this experience while visiting our store. We’ve reached out to local law enforcement and will cooperate with them as appropriate.”
Stiven further noted that other women in North Texas have come forward on social media, reporting similar encounters.
“After we posted, we have seen the same situation is happening to several ladies, and people are saying it looks like there is a trend of a group of guys that’s going to stores touching themselves,” Stiven said.
Although his wife remains deeply shaken and reluctant to leave their home, Stiven explained that the couple made a deliberate decision to come forward and share their experience for one important reason.
“She’s a psychologist. She knows with these kind of predators how they behave,” Stiven said. “We are really sharing this story with the only purpose that we want to stop this before this becomes a tragedy for someone else.”
Authorities are actively working to identify the suspect. Individuals who recognize the man seen in the video or who possess any relevant information are urged to contact Detective Kelly at the Lewisville Police Department by calling 972-219-3600.
